Nick A. Synko, Principal Partner
Nick Synko is the Founder and Principal Partner of Synko Associates LLC, a career transition and executive coaching firm in full-time operation since 1992. Nick provides customized approaches to meet every client situation. He is the co-author of 100+ Career Transition Tips and is also the author of Future@Work, An Employee Survival Guide for the 21st Century. His career spans a broad range of Human Resources assignments ranging from manufacturing plants to corporate offices. Nick’s last assignment was at Tenneco Automotive with responsibility for executive, professional, sales and administrative development for a 15,000 employee company. Additional Human Resources assignments at Ford Motor Company, two RCA divisions and Sears included employment, outplacement, compensation and benefit administration roles, as well as executive and full-range recruiting. Nick has a BS in Business Economics, from Purdue University’s Krannert School of Business.
Cathy Synko, Managing Partner
Cathy Synko, is an integral part of our Career Transition coaching staff and is involved in classroom as well as one-on-one coaching. Cathy is also responsible for business development and client relations. She is the editor of our business writing team; has edited Future@Work, An Employee Survival Guide for the 21st Century and is the co-author of 100+ Career Transition Tips. Prior to joining Synko Associates, Cathy was the publisher of RCA’s in-house newsletters and magazine publications. Earlier in her career, she was responsible for RCA’s leadership development center and organizational development activities. Cathy has a BS in Clinical Psychology and minor in Business from Purdue University.

Alberto Elli is skilled at coaching clients from recent graduates to executives. He also excels as a business advisor for individuals seeking to explore startup opportunities and emerging business ventures.
Alberto held roles of CEO/COO/CFO in large publicly listed companies, like paper and packaging (SCA AB), pharmaceutical (SGP-Merck) and paint and coating (Sherwin-Williams), as well in private or private equity-owned mid-size companies.
Having mentored several startups and run a medical device company that raised $10M. Alberto is also well versed in delivering strategic concept and idea generation workshops on service/product development and financial feasibility.
Alberto’s true passion is to guide companies and people to thrive personally and professionally through an enhanced connection to mission, financial goals, and a strong values system.
Anne Shelton, Creative Marketing Developer and Editor
Anne Shelton is a Human Resources Administrator who combines a decade of recruiting and human resources experience with a marketing, editing, and social media background. Anne is a professional editor and provides significant value to our clients through providing a final-final edit on resumes, cover letters, LinkedIn profiles and other social media postings. She has worked in the automotive, telecommunications, insurance, and medical fields, where Anne has been integral in sourcing candidates, creating advertising, interviewing potential employees, performing onboarding, and creating Internet material. Anne has a BS in Business Administration and is currently pursuing advanced studies in e-marketing.
Brody, Office Companion
Brody is a Vizsla with an extensive background in companionship. He is a hard worker and displays a high level of fun in the workplace. His favorite thing to do is play fetch in the conference room and greet guests at the door. Brody really enjoys the weekends when he can play with his friends at the park. He has a passion for helping others feel loved and supported. He is a great listener and always wears a smile!
